Don’t Turn Me Away Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP I walked for miles and miles to see your face, to catch your smile I walked for miles and miles just to breathe you in, to breathe you in So don’t turn me away, when I’ve come all this way So don’t turn me away, when I’ve come all this way I walked for miles and miles to hear your voice, to hear you say “Don’t make me ask you twice, to stay” So don’t turn me away, when I’ve come all this way So don’t turn me away, when I’ve come all this way She really wanted him I could tell by the way her eyes were on him It’s been so long since I’ve felt that way Mostly seems like I just get in the way So don’t turn me away, when I’ve come all this way So don’t turn me away, when I’ve come all this way So don’t turn me away, when I’ve come all this way

Discard 03:30
Discard – Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music (ASCAP) Everyone’s waiting for your discard You just stare at your hand and wonder how you got this far Everyone can see you’re a broken heart Your Poker Face didn’t used to be this hard But it’s all in the deck In the hand that you’re dealt The way that you felt (when I touched you) It’s all just a game they say, except when you play, it doesn’t feel that way Everyone’s waiting for you to open your mouth To let the truth be known, to let the pain fall out Everyone can feel it’s a lonely life But I’ll attach to you, for a little while But it’s all in the deck In the hand that you’re dealt The way that you felt (when I touched you) It’s all just a game they say, except when you play, it doesn’t feel that way And your face gets wild Just for a while I love to see you smile And your eyes get wild Just for a while I love to see you smile Everyone’s waiting for you to fall apart You just stare through their masks, disassembling their hearts Everyone knows it’s a beautiful life So just hold my hands, love me through this night But it’s all in the deck In the hand that you’re dealt The way that you felt (when I touched you) It’s all just a game they say, except when you play, it doesn’t feel that way

Getaway 04:03
Getaway Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP The trees form a carpet as I fly overhead Another trip in an airplane that same old feeling of dread I am dimly aware of life thirty thousand feet below But I'm acutely aware of one million moving parts that make this plane go And I can see myself strolling down the jetway Make my getaway, happy that it's done I can see myself in shattered pieces on the ground If, in fact, this thing goes down There's a little kid beside me she's reading pictures on the emergency card She says "I hope we don't land in the water, I hope that we land on the land" I said "Your seat bottom cushion may be used for flotation if this plane becomes a boat" She says "Mister, no offense, but you're a fool if you really think this thing can float" And I can see myself strolling down the jetway Make my getaway, happy that it's done I can see myself in shattered pieces on the ground If, in fact, this thing goes down Now we barter with the devil, and make our promises to god Saying "If you'll get me through this one then you know I'll join your crowd" But it's cold comfort and we know it every time we roll them dice We're always hoping for boxcars seems it's always coming up those snake-eyes And I can see myself strolling through this lifetime Just walking down Easy Street I would sell my golden crown to keep this thing from going down and see the sunrise of another day, and make my getaway...

For You 02:59
For You Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP I’ll grab a piece of the Moon for you I’ll cut the cloth of the stars The Sun for a crown for you For you I’ll catch the wind in a bottle for you The sound of rain to sleep A sunny day to keep for you For you All these things I would do All these things I would do for you But all I can do is sing For you I’ll let you cast your shadows where you will I’ll watch you make your own way up that hill But I’m with you tonight and I always will be if you need me I’ll bring an ocean of love for you Gather wisdom in a shell Oh a chest full of hope for you For you All these things I would do All these things I would do for you But all I can do is sing For you

Never Let Me Go Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP Well I see and I feel just like child Who awoke and fell out into the night And my wants, my needs, so easily confused I said I wanted you I needed you, but those are only words What was done, is past, I cannot change What’s ahead, this road, is beautiful and strange And I’ll walk it as I’ll die, all alone Unless you hold my hands and never let me go Hold my hands and never let me go And you see and you feel just like a girl Who awoke when you fell out into the world And your wants, your needs, so easily confused You said you wanted to need me, but those are only words What was love, what was lust, and how were you to know? When every breath is just so beautiful and slow Breathe as you’ll die, all alone Unless you hold my hands and never let me go Hold my hands and never let me go And we see and we feel the world crashing down We awoke as we fell out into the sound Of our wants, our needs, so easily abused We said we needed what we wanted and we tore apart the world But we swore we stay together when we stepped into the woods Who we were, what we did it was beautiful and good And you’ll live as you’ll die, all alone Unless you hold my hands and never let me go Hold my hands and never let me go Hold a na-na-na-na never let me go Hold a na-na-na-na never let me go Hold a na-na-na-na never let me go

Your Plastic Heart Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP If I could bend your plastic heart, I’d turn it more towards mine A different look in your eyes, different thoughts in your mind Another level to the conversation, when we say hello A whole world of inspiration that only you and I would know But everybody’s calling you on your telephone Everybody’s wondering, where you gonna go? Diggin’ your toes in the sand, your hands up in the air Didn’t you know I fell in love with you right there? Didn’t you know, didn’t you know, didn’t you know? Didn’t you know I fell in love with you right there? If I could melt your plastic heart, and mold it once again I would shape it into a bird, and set it free my friend ‘Cause every cage has a latch to let its loved one go Only in your freedom will your beauty truly show But everybody’s calling you on your telephone Everybody’s wondering, where you gonna go? Diggin’ your toes in the sand, your hands up in the air Didn’t you know I fell in love with you right there? Didn’t you know, didn’t you know, didn’t you know? Didn’t you know I fell in love with you right there? If I could steal your plastic heart, and take it home with me I would put it into my pocket treat it carefully Keep you by my side and never let you out of my sight And if you let me, I will love you all through the night If you let me, I will love you all through your life Whatever happens I will love you all through your life But everybody’s calling you on your telephone Everybody’s wondering, where you gonna go? Diggin’ your toes in the sand, your hands up in the air Didn’t you know I fell in love with you right there? Didn’t you know? didn’t you know? didn’t you know? Didn’t you know I fell in love with you right there?

Your Arms, Your Legs, Your Back Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP “In another time”, she thought, “I could have been a lady” Out here in the desert she’s just lonely and afraid The curtains blow in the wind through the open window She lays on her back with her eyes closed “There’s a box for you and you know it There’s a place for you and they’ll find it And if you won’t go when they first put you in Break your arms, your legs, your back to make you fit And if you won’t go when they first put you in Break your arms, your legs, your back” In the distance a car door slams And heavy boots on rocks and sand The approach is never quite what you expect This last wave to wash the driftwood to your steps “Come home, come home”, she’d always say But he was so small in her mind’s eye He’d always put it off just one more day And every streetlight that went out as he passed by Just a reminder that he never said goodbye And every streetlight that went out as he passed by Just a reminder that he never said: “There’s a box for you and you know it There’s a place for you and they’ll find it And if you won’t go when they first put you in Break your arms, your legs, your back to make you fit And if you won’t go when they first put you in Break your arms, your legs, your back” The curtains blow in the wind through the open window She wished to God that he’d never have to go But he’ll never fit for long in the box that’s been prepared It’s like a coffin, with a lid, even when it’s shared And every streetlight that went out as he passed by Just a reminder that he never said goodbye And every streetlight that went out as he passed by Just a reminder that he never said: There’s a box for you and you know it There’s a place for you and they’ll find it And if you won’t go when they first put you in Break your arms, your legs, your back to make you fit And if you won’t go when they first put you in Break your arms, your legs, your back

Pale Blue Dot Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP Do you dream about the vastness of space, or do you live inside your mind? I touched the binding and the pages they just fell away Another story for another life We’re so hard to see from far away, even the giants of our histories Are standing on shoulders of shoulders of shoulders, casting shadows they would never see. All of these armies and all of these wars for a piece of a pale blue dot And if you think we’ve reached the pinnacle I can assure you, we have not All of these armies and all of these wars for a piece of a pale blue dot And if you think that you’re untouchable, I can assure you, you are not And love it is a mystery, like a giant in our lives And everyone else just backs away, In deference to its size But love can be a tragedy, Like a flood upon our lives When everyone else is swept away, with one glance from your pale blue eyes All of these armies and all of these wars for a piece of a pale blue dot And if you think we’ve reached the pinnacle I can assure you, we have not All of these armies and all of these wars for a piece of a pale blue dot And if you think that you’re untouchable, I can assure you, you are not Time it is a mystery, the swirling eddies of our minds Exist to interpret signals that come faster, faster all the time Time it is a tragedy, we’re always waiting for that last hard stop Do we exist just to be blurs in motion? Or does that motion wind the clock? So light a candle in the dark we are alone on our pale blue dot And if you think that we are unaccountable, I can assure that we are not All of these armies and all of these wars for a piece of a pale blue dot And if you think we’ve reached the pinnacle I can assure you, we have not All of these armies and all of these wars for a piece of a pale blue dot And if you think that you’re untouchable, I can assure you, you are not Do you dream about the vastness of space? Or do you live inside your mind?

The Cantaloupe Terrain Russ Glenn/ Starshell Music ASCAP I caught the first train to Triton Thought I’d get some space and Clear my mind But I got lost in the Cantaloupe Terrain I see your face All of the time Everything we had We could carry it on our backs Everything we loved It’s all burning on the side of the road I caught the last train to Neptune I guess I saw A future there But I got tangled in the methane And I know you Just don’t care Everything we had You could fit in the palm of your hand and Everything we owned It’s all burning on the side of the road I’ll catch the next train to Triton Go and get that space Clear my mind I’ll go get lost in the Cantaloupe Terrain Think about me From time to time Everything we had I will carry it on my back All the words you said You cannot retract them Everything we owned I can’t let it go Everything I loved It’s all burning on the side of the road

about

Hi friends, I’m excited to share that my first album in over a decade, entitled Pale Blue Dot, has launched!
